The Hellenic Trireme
The HELLENIC TRIREME is a historically important Greek warship, and was used in the battles against the Persians in the Peloponessian war.
This model is not from kit, it is totally handmade. According to its
builder, the primary research for this model took place in Athen's Acropolis
museum and Athens nautical museum.
The Trireme is wooden and has the overall form of a fish, the protruding bow
is metal and it was used for ramming enemy ships. The bow has painted eyes,
and the stern is also metal, and shaped like the tail of a fish. The
aflaston ornament, and the wooden sofa for the Governor Trireme are
positioned at the stern. The Trireme has three banks of rowers on each side,
for a total of 130 oars. The two decks are connected with wooden ladders.
Her dimensions are 83cm long , 39cm wide with oars and 41cm high.
This is not only a beautiful and original showpiece, but is also very unique
and historically accurate. The asking price is only $2000. Shipping extra,
